Organizations and Users
You need Anyscale organization and user accounts to have access to its benefits.
What is an organization?
An organization is a logical grouping of users. Usually, all users within a single corporation will belong to a single organization. Organizations are an important concept in Anyscale. For now, it defaults to sharing things across an organization. Billing will be charged to an organization.
An organization is the first thing created when registering for a new account on Anyscale. All one needs to do is to pick an organization name. This can be the same as used username. Members of the organization can be created by inviting them via e-mail.
All users must belong to an organization but it is also okay for an organization to have only a single user. Every user can belongs to only one organization. If a person that should participate on a project already has an account in a different organization, it is possible to share the project outside of one's organization by e-mail.
Generally, all users of an organization see everything for that organization: all configurations, all jobs, all projects, so it is recommended to create a naming convention that prevents duplicities and name conflicts. In large organizations, there is possibility to create several artificial organizations representing e.g. departments instead of one huge organization representing the actual legal entity.
View who's in your organization
You can view who's in your organization by opening your organization's page. This can be done by clicking the user icon in the top right corner and then clicking "My organization". The first tab you see should be the "People" tab which contains all the users within your organization.
Invite others
In the title bar of the organization page, there is an "Invite teammates" button on the right. Click this button. Then, just list out email addresses in a comma-separated list for each new user you wish to invite to your organization.
Each email address will receive a email with a link to register a new user account. Users must create a new user account for this organization. They cannot use an existing user account as each user account can only belong to a single organization. Note: It is possible to share projects outside of one's organization. If the person you wish to share your project already has an account in a different organization, you can just share the project by email.
